CAUTION on Blue Spring Grove: Today there is an unincorporated community in Kentucky named Blue Spring in Trigg County, the most Western part. The deeds and surveys for John Robertson property refers to a Blue Spring Grove. These are very different places. Blue Spring Grove where John's property was located is an area about 10 miles North East of Glasgow, Kentucky. There exists today a Little Blue Spring Road, a Blue Spring Church and a Blue Spring Creek. The Grove, as best I can tell, was in that area 7 to 10 miles NE of Glasgow and a short distance NE of Hiseville. The Blue Spring Church does not appear to be in or very near what was called Blue Spring Grove. The Grove was described as a 3000 Acre grove on Blue Spring Creek. John Robertson's land according to the survey document was located adjacent to land owned by McClung and reference is found to McClung's military line. A search of the Kentucky Land Office records revels a number of McClungs who acquired much land in the Hardin and Nelson County areas in the time frame 1782 to 1800 however no record has been found the McClung land in Blue Spring Grove. |
